mAP Lite positioning

Mon Oct 11, 2021 10:49 pm

Hi,

I know this is a stupid question but how should the mAP Lite sit?, vertically or horizontally?

Being an integrated omnidirectional antenna (2 chains), it will have a specific polarization and the "donut" will be more efficient horizontally or vertically.

Greetings

Never noticed anything different either way.

Does it matter that much ?

Being so small, there is no real difference, as you won't be using it for big distances anyway.

Excellent! There was a difference and you were correct.
Horizontal gives about 2m more range, so probably 6m in total! Only kidding.
All MT wi-fi is terrible anyway so knowing the best way to get the most out of them is useful. I've got 2 of these for testing and even used 1 for a year or so. Quite useful and cheap. So despite poor wi-fi, they do have cheapness going for them ;)
