I am a MikroTik rookie who has a RB 4011iGS+ running CapsMan on two cAP-ac that are connected to the 4011 by Cat 6A ethernet. All are running V6.49
My home Internet speed was contracted for 150 Mbps however speed reliability had been spotty since Jan 2021. Subsequently I discovered that I was a victim of the Hitron 3-35 Intel Puma 6 chipset problem described here: https://approvedmodems.org/bad-modems/
On the advice of the techies at my ISP, VMedia.ca I upgraded to a Hitron CODA-45 (Docsis 3.1) I also upgraded my speed to 500 Mbps.
The week after I purchased it, I discovered that my new Hitron CODA - 45 had an Intel Puma 7 chipset. This Puma 7 chipset was supposed to be more reliable than its Puma 6 predecessor. It has been reliable and has performed (from a speed standpoint )reasonably well for a couple of months.
This morning October 25th 2021, I had no internet at all. With my tablet I opened the MikroTik Android app and saw this https://photos.app.goo.gl/K7rWhqEJacNSmQ3w5
My question to the group is how can I use the Bandwith Test page to measure and record the SPEED and STABILITY of my Internet connection? Every time I open and try to use the Bandwidth Test, I enter an IP like Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and all I see is "connecting" though it never seems to connect , then I get a message that says, "failed to connect" I have tried with it set to tcp and udp.
Could this failed to connect be related to my doing something wrong?
Could it be my cable modem / ISP is not allowing this test?
How is this test different from the Bandwith Test test in the VMedia Android app which seems to work?
Would someone please reply with a step one, step step three way to make this test work or otherwise explain based on my questions above why this is not working for me.
In a comment below the article linked about I saw this comment. Maybe I need to buy a Technicolor Docsis 3.1 modem

Puma 5,6,and 7 are all problematic and in the same boat! All 3 were manufactured in short, with the tools to help your provider throttle its customers. The development of these tools came at a cost of major vulnerabilities and devastating performance defects. Honestly it’s kinda karma as far as I am concerned for helping providers to throttle customers without them being aware or notified!
