I have the same problem with some Routerboard 2011(mipsbe)/3011(arm) here.
After updating from v6.46.6 to v6.49 - on first boot everything is ok, but after reboot the firmware is gone:

setting up elf image... not an elf header
kernel loading failed
...Inspired by reddit ("ancient hardware and router os version") I can reproduce the problem
when upgrading from v.6.39.3 to v6.49 on RB 2011/3011 in 100% of cases. The update to v.6.48.3 is not affected.
Does anyone have any idea?
