Struggling with LTE failover (WAP LTE - VLAN passthrough)

Wed Nov 10, 2021 11:38 pm

Hi,

i have some issues configuring a LTE failover connection.

My main router is RB4011 with primary ISP on ether1. (Optical provider with PPPoE Client)
I would like to configure my WAP LTE Kit on ether3 as failover connection. (Passthrough mode and DHCP client on RB4011).

WAP LTE:
- added vlan-mgmt on ether1
- added vlan-isp on ether 1
- lte interface APN passthrough interface "vlan-isp"
- DHCP Client, interface "vlan-mgmt" add default route "yes"

RB4011:
- added both vlans to ether3
- added vlan-mgmt to bridge (WAP LTE accessible)
- added dhcp client "vlan-isp" with default route "yes" and distance=10

Everything works fine. WAP LTE is accessible and when i disconnect my cable on RB4011 ether1 the failover works and LTE is working fine.

BUT my problem is, if i disable default route on my RB4011 dhcp client "vlan-isp" and add a static route with gateway "vlan-isp" it says reachable but i have no internet connection. (I would like to setup netwatch).

With default route "yes" it looks like this:

With default route "no" it looks different (without ip address and internet connection).
