RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN WiFi chipsets

Thu Nov 18, 2021 11:33 am

Hi all,

I have purchased RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN as a second hand product from reputable on-line seller,
but looking at the Wi-Fi chipsets that are meant to be there as per description:
https://mikrotik.com/product/rb4011igs_ ... ifications
Wireless 5 GHz chip model QCA9984
Wireless 2.4 GHz chip model R11e-2HnD

In WinBox (Interfaces - Interface)
wlan1 shows Type: Wireless (QCA9984)
wlan2 shows Type: Wireless (Atheros AR9300)

But can not find connection between Atheros AR9300 and R11e-2HnD for wlan2 ....

What is worse I can see that R11e-2HnD Mikrotik 802.11b/g/n High Power MiniPCIe card is listed as 800mw output Atheros AR9580 chipset here:
https://www.roc-noc.com/mikrotik/router ... -2HnD.html

So has the R11e-2HnD/AR9580 been taken out and replaced with AR9300 or is the information in WinBox now showing the correct info?

I am running Development version of RouterOS 7.1rc6.

Is there any other way to check what wi-fi chipset/cards are inside apart from dismantling it?

R11e-2HnD is marketing name for PCIe add-on wireless card ... built around AR9300 family wireless chip. Block diagram is a bit more technical:
