Interface menu doesn't show IP addresses?

Sat Nov 20, 2021 1:14 pm

Hi all, new to Mikrotik and was just looking around and I noticed that the Interfaces tab shows all the interfaces such as ether1 with the speed and usage but there's no way to find the ip address of that interface.

Isn't this really strange? Every switch I have ever worked on you could find the interface and then it would tell you the IP address so that you could determine what device was on that port?

....interface is only about what it is, interfaces...physical or logical devices...IP addresses are...guess where: /ip - address

Edit: RouterOS is for a router, not a switch....if you do run a MT switch, it usually would also allow to boot into SwOS.
However, I've never seen a Switch as such to give information about IP addresses in use via its ports...wouldn't make sense but rather would be considered spying ;.-)
