Dear Mikrotik lovers,
We have the following setup :
WAN1 WAN2
I eBGP (over GRE) I eBGP (over GRE)
Mikrotik 1 (ether5) ----iBGP------(ether5) Mikrotik 2
I VRRP master I VRRP backup
LAN LAN
The LAN has different VLAN with own subnets.
These subnets needs to be reachable on the WAN side which is the backbone.
Networks of the LAN are well advertised and everything is working as expected. When WAN1 goes down, traffic is routed over WAN2. Redundancy is ok.
But I see a lot of BGP updates coming from the networks on the VRRP backup. Each seconds all networks are readvertised to the iBGP peer and the eBGP peer.
I looks like when the VRRP gets an ack (each 1 seconds), the networks are considered as new and bgp sends an update to his neighbours.
Counter is increasing under "Routing / BGP / BGP peer / Status =# Updates Sent
Is this known and/or normal behaviour ?
Is there a way to stop this ?
Didn't find anything related on the forums. On a juniper srx, I didn't see this behaviour.
Thanks a lot for your support.
