CRS109 as a main router for the grocery store.

Fri Nov 26, 2021 3:00 pm

Hi. I am currently in charge of choosing networking equipment upgrades on my job and I can't make for the right one since RB4011 and CRS109 will do the job.
It is currently occupied by seven wired consumers on an old switch and equally old tp-link router that is unable to handle the workload.
Thanks for assist in advance!

Re: CRS109 as a main router for the grocery store.  [SOLVED]

CRS109 is a switch, not a router, even while it can do router duties. It may be enough, or not for your scenario.

A typical application for CRS109 is act as a wired/wireless table or under table switch/AP on e.g. classrooms, labs, meeting rooms, etc.

What's the Internet uplink bandwidth?

A proper router, like HeX, RB4011 (if no wireless is required) or e.g. a hAP ac (if wireless required) will suit the task better.

Yes, I am considering buying hAP AC lite with the HeX lite as a auxiliary switch. We have only 80 Mbps uplink bandwidth, so I do believe that lites are sufficient.
Thanks.
