RIB&FIB crash course.

Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:28 pm

Hello all,
I am not certain where to start here, I am new to MikroTik, however not to routing, so I am looking for a little crash course to work through and look into some routing problems.
Scenario:
- MikroTik router : RB4011iGS+ RouterOS 7.1 (just upgraded, was running 6.3x stable)
- Dual WAN (DHCP provided)
- LAN DHCP

Almost all working, have modified some DHCP client scripts, and placed a scheduled script for some route steering of specific traffic which must traverse a specific ISP for email etc.

The routes from the script are getting into the table, (I think) however without my manual static are not forwarding.... looking at how to do a show of the FIB, is this possible? Below is the routing table:
/ip/route> print
Flags: D - DYNAMIC; X, I, A - ACTIVE; c, s, d, y - COPY; + - ECMP
Columns: DST-ADDRESS, GATEWAY, DISTANCE
# DST-ADDRESS GATEWAY DISTANCE
;;; mail.optusnet.com.au
0 Xs 211.29.132.250/32 192.168.0.1
DAd+ 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.0.1 1
DAd+ 0.0.0.0/0 100.127.255.8 1
DAd+ 0.0.0.0/0 100.127.255.8 1
DAc 100.64.0.0/10 ether2 0
DAc 192.168.0.0/24 ether1 0
DAc 192.168.66.0/24 bridge2 0
DAc 192.168.88.0/24 bridge 0
1 As 192.168.100.1/32 ether2 1
;;; WAN1
2 As 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.0.1 1
;;; AutoAdded
3 As 1.1.1.1/32 192.168.0.1 1
;;; AutoAdded for dnsName: mail.optusnet.com.au
4 As 211.29.132.250/32 192.168.0.1 1
;;; WAN2
5 As 0.0.0.0/0 100.127.255.8 1

When the routes are added from the script, they are with the @main, so I thought that put them in the main FIB... even though the are added with a routing-mark.

Happy to provide any information to help, I'd prefer the route to be dynamic so that if / when ISP makes changes that I do not need to think about it!

Thanks,
Guy
