Help with NAT/internal routing

Tue Dec 07, 2021 10:04 pm

Good afternoon all,

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to do this.

Existing setup:
-Bridge with DHCP server and hotspot authentication (192.168.2.0/24)
-Another interface with a separate DHCP server (192.168.6.0/24) and no hotspot

Desired config:
-NAT or otherwise route all traffic from the 192.168.6.0/24 subnet, to a single IP on the 192.168.2.0/24 bridge
-Have a MAC on the single IP that can be authenticated in the hotspot

The idea is to be able to set one port up to act as a router within a router - for example, for plugging in a switch with multiple customer devices and serving DHCP to them, but having everything on that subnet then go through the normal customer bridge under one IP, for the purpose of authentication/automatic speed queue setting, for the entire port - instead of having to authenticate each device, and instead of each device getting it's own separate speed queue.

I have tried a number of different configurations but have been unable to get it working. If anyone has the time to point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Rob
