Wanted to add this to previous post but

Wed Jan 05, 2022 3:40 am

it seems since its "pending moderation" it doesn't even let ME see it.

I've found this documentation, but it doesn't touch on "how to ADD a package". It shows where to download them, and how to manage the ones on the router.

But it completely ignores "how to add them to the router"

there is an "uninstall" but not "install" - these seems like a glaring omission.

Unzip it if its extra packages otherwise three steps

Open the Files menu selection in Winbox
Drag the file(s) from your local folder/deskop onto the file menu area and watch them automatically load up.
Reboot the router (under system I believe)

As i said in the previous post, which i was unable to add this reply to due to it pending moderation, i do not, cannot use "winbox"

This documention is for the cli. There is documentation there for listing installed packages and uninstalling a package. Neither of those involve "winbox"

There should be a section there on how to INSTALL packages. Using the cli and/or web browser only.

That's to update the OS, not for adding packages.

The documentation for managing packages at the URL below *completely ignores* the topic of "How to install NEW packages"

There should be a "/system package install" command, or something like that.

Or at the very least, there should be *something* on the page acknowledging that one might want to install packages, and how to do so (that uses only "routerOS" and does not require "winbox")

Maybe that should be documented somewhere on the System/Packages page.

It baffles me why there simply isn't a "upload" option in the Web UI under the "System, Packages" menu that would use http upload ....

There's upload in Files. And yes, how to install packages should be documented.
