hello forum,
Briefly about the process: I reset the above-mentioned device immediately after buying it and set it up nicely as a router from scratch. The device has the act. Firmware 6.49.2 on it and setup was well documented. I wanted to install the device on site a good week later and had to find out that the first 14 digits of the 16 digits in the documentation had disappeared when I copied the password. Bad luck, however, a user error with Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Many conceivable combinations of a possible password have already been tried without success. The set up password is gone, there is no access to the device
Now to the problem: the device does not reset as expected. The original Mikrotik instructions for a full reset and the 30/30/30 rule do not apply either. The device starts permanently with the selected setup for which the login password is missing. The function of the reset switch in the device was not changed during setup. Even if the reset button of the device remains pressed (even for a very long time) after a restart: the device does not reset itself. Many reset combinations have been tried without success.
The device has an opening on the underside with which you can (if the reset button on the front is defective) generate a short circuit as a reset signal: this does not lead to success either.
I equipped the UART PIN header on the board and connected it with a corresponding converter (3.3 V TTL to UART to USB, just as usual, just as documented, as far as I know) to access a serial console to get. That doesn't work either. This serial console access feature should have been enabled in the initial setup and was not done. Access is even not possible.
Now to the question: how do I get access to the device again or how do I reset it somehow?
If that still doesn't work, the next step would be to otherwise dispose of the part, which I don't think is good in principle.
