Some users have been reporting much improved WiFi experience using the wave2 drivers from ROSv7 on their RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN
I own the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN-US (USA model), which is factory locked for 2412-2462MHz, 5170-5250MHz and 5725-5835MHz frequencies. Apparently this lock can not be removed...
Due to these very restrictive frequency lock in place on the device, it seems impossible to use wave2 on the US version of the WiFi-enabled RB4011.
For the record, I can't even see the interfaces when I enable wave2 package (This is on RouterOS v7.1.1):
DefConf gen: Unable to find wifiwave2 interface(s)
error while running customized default configuration script: interrupted
So I'm just wondering, has anyone succeeded in getting wave2 to work on this model ?
Also, how is it possible for other vendors to be offering wave2 in the US market if they share the same frequency restrictions?
Does MikroTik have any plans to bring wave2 to the US-model of the RB4011?
Should I regret even buying the wifi-enabled RB4011 given how ridiculously restrictive the frequency selection is? Despite costing the same price as the international version, it seems wave2 is going to be impossible on this variant. I mean, it's disappointing enough that 2GHz isn't supported...
Anyone else facing the same dilemma ? Should I open a ticket with support ?
Please, any advice on this matter would be appreciated. Really battling with WiFi speeds over here.
Thanks
