CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+ very High CPU usage

Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:29 am

something very odd going on we got the router basically today and to start off with the CPU has been hovering around 2% with a average total 100M though put at any time (it quite literally is doing nothing..) then out of the blue right upto 90% CPU and pretty much stays there.. then after a reboot seems to drop back to 2%.. even disabling everything bar the management port it would not change. but it would stop the IPsec tunnels for any users remotely there is litterally me and one other..

when you go tools > profile you see networking using nearly all the CPU which is really odd when there is basically no thoughput well no where near the level the router can handle. and its not all the time

no it seems to happen when any setting is changed randomly increase the CPU and then kills the 2 IPsec tunnels, I have upgreaded to 7.2.1 after a reboot it started running upto 90% so after a reboot when back to normal and again been doing a few tweaks to user-manager and its back upto 90% CPU usage

Get a supout and submit it to support. I have seen this a few times, but I can't reproduce the issue at will.

.
Previously errors in the firewall left services like DNS open on the WAN port resulting in your observed behaviour.

DNS is and was blocked, also whats odd we have another site that seems to be having the same trouble what I'm finding is that the IPsec tunnels just do not seem to come up at all and a high CPU usage.
