ROS 7.2: firmware on dual partition router?

Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:52 pm

Hello
I have installed on my CCR1009 in a 2nd partition ROS 7.2. On the first partition I still have v6.48.6 on it.

Should I now also update the firmware for 7.2?

Could I then still roll back to 6.48.6?

Am unsure about the firmware.

Thank you,

My (limited) experience is that newer routerboot (firmware) doesn't have problems with older ROS (at least if it's not much older). However, older routerboots sometimes have problems with newer ROS.

With your ROS combination (6.48.6 and 7.2) probably any of routerbot versios will be fine, but I'd still go with newer one. If it prooves troublesome, you can always install routerboot of currently running ROS (e.g. 6.48.6 when booted from that partition) by running /system routerboard upgrade which does the trick even if "current" firmware is newer than "upgrade" firmware.
