5Ghz WiFi SSID not appearing after factory reset

Tue May 10, 2022 7:18 pm

Hello,

I was having some WiFi issues so I decided to reset my Mikrotik to factory settings, but still use the same SSID's and passwords. The 2.4Ghz radio immediately began working but I am unable to see 5Ghz. I am based in the USA and have "unitedstates3" selected as my profile. Since this is the factory reset settings, I'd think they should work, does anyone notice any issues in this config? Thank you!

I had posted this to Reddit and someone said to "Disable DFS" but I do not see this in the settings. I do see a way to change the "Frequency" of 5GHz from "auto" to "5180" (these are the only 2 options), but neither work.

Re: 5Ghz WiFi SSID not appearing after factory reset

. I am based in the USA and have "unitedstates3" selected as my profile.
Wrong in the above configuration it is not
There should be an entry "country="united states3"
Mikrotik wrote the reason for the error "# no supported channel and secondary channel combination"
An unsupported combination of centre channel and auxiliary channel frequencies has been selected.
An error seems to have occurred during automatic tuning

Set the following settings and everything will work
 channel-width=20/40mhz-XX country="united states3" frequency=5180
Strange setting "secondary-frequency=auto " I don't have this on 7.2.3. If you have it in your settings, this field should be left blank. This setting was present in the old versions, it is not used in the new ones.

I did see that Mikrotik was telling me what the issue was, but not how to fix it given what I see in the WebUI

Interesting, you are right that the config I posted does not show "unitedstates3". There must be some bug with the UI:

Is there a command I can run in the terminal to set the setting you provide? I think because of this UI bug I am unable to fix my issue.

I think I managed to set the proper setting through Webfig which gave me access to disable "secondary-channel" on the 5Ghz interface:
