wAP LTE power consumption

Tue May 10, 2022 8:06 pm

Hi folks!
I have one wAP LTE (RBwAPR-2nD&R11e-LTE) hidden in the table and I want to use it for AP needs only. I will disable LTE interface.

My plan is to extend my WiFi network connecting it directly to POE passthrough of Nanostation M2. POE adapter for Nanostation is 24V and 0.5A which is arround 12W max, and Nanostation is consuming 6.5W max. On the other hand, maximum consumption of wAP is 8W.

What do you think, if I disable LTE interface, am I able to use passthrough POE from Nanostation to wAP and use it as Access point? I suppose that 6.5W + 8W = 14.5W is with 4G connection online, maximum dBi on both devices and etc...

Thanks in advance.

Should work fine, I’m running an SXT Lite 2 from the SXT LTE PoE out on 12V - peak usage is around 5W combined which is far below the max on the specs.
