Can't chain multiple CRS305 configured to be bridges;

Fri May 13, 2022 12:12 pm

I possess a pair of CRS305 that I'm trying to get as close to unmanaged switches as ⠀possible. Both are configured as bridges. The first one is connected to the rest of my network, and the second one is connected to the first via one of the SFP+ ports. Everything works on devices that are connected to the first CRS305, but nothing seems to be working for any device connected to the second one. I've tried setting the Protocol Mode to RTSP or off (on each combination of both switches). With RTSP on, I've given the first switch a lower priority value. The cable test says the link is ok from both switches. Both switches are close to factory settings, so I'm not sure if there's some other thing I'm missing that's supposed to be configured to allow for this sort of daisy-chained setup?

Are you doing this in SwitchOS or RouterOS? I gather from your description that you are using RouterOS.

For your application, and keeping it simple, you might want to change both switches to SwitchOS
