Wireless Wire nRAY 60G Link problems

Mon May 23, 2022 2:28 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the kit of these two antennas; theoretically they say it can reach a distance of 1500m, but already at 1300m I have no signal.

I updated the firmware to the latest version available, reset both antennas and reconfigured, but nothing to do they don't connect.

They are in open field without obstacles and yet at 1300m there is no connection; I tried to connect them closer by doing some tests; the connection is lost after 200m

how is this possible? Does the kit have a hardware problem?

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Try upgrading rOS version and set the highest available frequency.

Try upgrading rOS version and set the highest available frequency.

rOS: 7.2.3
AP Bridge Frequency: 66960

No link at 1300m

Station Bridge Scan, finds nothing

AP Bridge Frequency: 66960
Channel 5 is not available in every country. Check the region settings on both devices, try setting a different channel frequency. If the devices are flashed for a specific region, re-flash via Netinstall.

I knew that channel 5 was not available for the EU but for some strange reason it allows you to select it

also I noticed this anomaly, without doing anything the antenna restarts automatically for a problem as you can see from the forwarding log the CPU is always between 24/26% after updating to 7.2.3

I will try to reinstall everything via netinstall and see if it solves the problem

... for some strange reason it allows you to select it
It allows you to choose, but the power is greatly reduced.
I would not recommend using ROS7, use 6.48.6 LT
In some versions of ROS6, channel 6 was also available. This is the best channel for long range.

ok now they work, I tried at a higher distance bad performance is not the best; about 80/80 Mbps

You wrote about 1300 meters. And in picture is 1835 meters. That's too much for nRAY. The first rain will disconnect it ....

You stubbornly do not use the standard Channel 4. The 66.0 GHz frequency is still channel 5. What results do you get on channel 4 of 64.8GHz?
The antennas are not precisely aligned. The parameters on the Master device are much worse than the Slave. Probably the installation rules are broken.

it was initially 1300 meters, then it was moved to a higher building where the bridge is needed; otherwise I would do the extra 500 meters with another bridge

I am doing a new alignment, I also try to change the channel and update you

after various tests I realized that this type of antennas are not suitable for links over 500 meters; so I had to change the type of antennas
