I have had 2 HA2 routers, one for my own use and one at a CCTV installation
To access these routers, I enter 192.168.88.1 in a web browser

A new ISP supplied a faulty TP-Link router and resisted all attempts to exchange it, so I purchased a new HA2 from a local supplier

This works 100%, the throughput is excellent

It has one anomaly. Windows ipconfig /all shows the router's IP address to be 192.168.101.1, likewise Winbox shows the same. I cannot access the router to set up the wireless credentials, either with a web browser or Winbox

I reset the router according to the instructions (three times) but the IP address won't change

From a phone,. it will connect to the open SSID Mikrotik and also shows 192.168.101.1

All the supplier will say is "that is not right" but offers no other solution. I really have no idea how to resolve this

use netinstall, the vendor or some previous proprietary has changed default configuration.

Created manual IP address as per guide (192.168.101.1)
Netinstall reports: Cannot open device

I have not come across being unable to access a device where the IP address is known

1 - Download netinstall and the program
2 - Disconnect LAN
3 - Create static IP address
4 - Connect router
5 - Power down router, hold down reset, power up, wait for light to stop flashing
6 - Run netinstall

That is what the supplier told me as well, but it won't connect. I cannot see where to click the MAC address

In the first post is a screenshot of Winbox

In the first post you already have MAC address in Connect To field. What's missing is Login and Password (default is "admin" and no password).

I tried combinations of password and no password

Previous HA2s I have used had "admin" for both

I have to keep asking here, as the supplier is unhelpful. He tells me he has not seen this problem before, he just assumed the router was ex factory and said it seemed I did not know what I was doing

Clearly this device is used and your 'supplier' is trying to palm you off with a used item as a new one. And then they have the cheek to make out all the admin problems are your fault.
Send it back and demand your money back. Is this an 'official' MikroTik distributer?
Might be time for name'n'shame.
