Problem with Wi-Fi network on RBD52G-5HacD2HnD

Wed Jun 22, 2022 11:59 am

I have problem with the Wi-Fi network when trying to connect to the Mikrotik from a laptop with Ubuntu OS.
I have tried with different settings on the Mikrotik but no change.

This is the output for Wi-Fi Country and enabled channels when connecting to the Mikrotik:

Channel 153 : 5.765 GHz
Channel 157 : 5.785 GHz
Channel 161 : 5.805 GHz

As you can see only 4 channels available on the 5GHz network.

This is what I get when connecting to another Wi-Fi that it's not Mikrotik:

As you can see many more frequencies enabled and the country code is DE.

I tried with different settings on the Mikrotik but I can't get more than those 4 frequencies. Also country code is never set although I have tried setting different countries in the Mikrotik.

Post config of your hAP ac2: open terminal window, execute command /interface wireless export hide-sensitive file=anynameyouwish, fetch resulting file, open it in text editor, obfuscate any remaining sensitive information (such as WiFi password or device serial number) and copy-paste it here inside

environment.

You have set the 5G wifi to "indoors", that makes it avoid DFS channels.
When you want to use a DFS channel, set it to "any".
Also, you have not successfully set a country. Note that when you change country, it may tell you that some other parameter is unacceptable. You need to change that parameter AND change the country in one go.

Already tried to use different countries as I wrote in the first topic. Nothing changed.
Installation type is set to any:

So many things that can go wrong with these settings.
Klembord-2.jpg
antenna gain=0 -> illegal, minimum is 3 for hAP ac2 (country will not be accepted if too low)
no_country_set = FCC (USA) frequencies only! And that is a limited set !
2.4GHz 40MHz-XX = interference all over the spectrum
frequency=auto , you never know what you will get
5GHz 80MHz-XXXX = very undefined , and maybe just not possible for FCC
If freq is possible you might have a wheater radar frequency is this broad band, and then 5 GHz will be dead for at least 10 minutes after every change.
distance=indoors ("distance" is NOT" installation"!)
"_" in SSID can give problems. : viewtopic.php?t=184427
