Mikrotik to a TP-Link EAP660 HD, multi SSID map to VLAN

Mikrotik to a TP-Link EAP660 HD, multi SSID map to VLAN

I have
MT router Working at the moment with a mAP-Lite...
Switch with Trunk port
TP EAP660 HD
--
Connection:
MT port2 is a Trunk->SW port1 as Trunk
TP EAP660 HD->SW port 2 as Trunk

But:
The TP only map the SSID to VLAN. What about the management IP on the TP, it is not on any VLAN?

I know some of you use the TP EAP660 HD and the SSID map to VLAN, but how do you connect to?
So help please...

You could either use hybrid instead of trunk ports with management VLAN untagged + all WiFi VLANs tagged, or set the EAP660 to use a VLAN for management as shown in https://static.tp-link.com/upload/manua ... 110_UG.pdf on page 83.

Thanks for the hints! The reason i want the TP is for now i use 3 small mAP-Lite, but the output is not so nice... Therefore i will try one TP AP.
I have not the TP AP, so don't know anything about it. But i can see i can assign VLAN as you describe to the management IP.
But then i have a new question, at the MT i use WinBox MAC when doing the initial config, as assigning VLAN and so on. After that i switch to use IP over VLAN...
How does that work on the TP-Link EAP660, will i need the controller software or?

They can be configured standalone or with the controller, there are various manuals and guides on the TP-Link support website.

You may be able to use their app to configure the device directly, otherwise connect it to a regular untagged network which has a DHCP server, find the IP address of the TP-Link, connect to its web interface and configure as required. If you change the management interface to be via a VLAN this breaks your management access until you connect the TP-Link to an appropriately configured trunk port, or reconfigure the existing port.

I have multiple TP Link EAPs 245 and 660HD working flawlessly with vlans to MT devices.
What do you want to do...
Show me a network diagram./

@anav Thanks:-)
At the moment my EAP245_V3 is at the postal office, must wait there until next weekend:-)
The EAP245 will replace 3 pcs. MT mAP-Lite, and one ASUS 5GHz AP. All will be done by the EAP245, if there is any dead spot i will mount one more EAP245 at the basement.
I have my 4 VLAN running for some time now, so i don't think there will be problem. I have uses long time reading tests, and playing with the TP-Link emulator...
So i think iam ready:-)

Just to inform it is now running, thanks for hints and help.
Now i have used my EAP245 for about 3 weeks, it is so nice.
It cover my house with 3 floor without dead spot, placed about the middle in the house.
It supply me with 4 SSID/VLAN in both 2G/5G. I use the management VLAN too, all run just out of the box. Connected directly(POE in between) to the trunk port in the MT.
The EAP245 deliver strong and stable signal to, 4xlaptop, 2xTV, 2xChromeCast, 4xMobilePhone, 4xWebCam, all on mixed SSID.
I can strongly suggest the EAP245 unit. It is cheap, stable and fit all place. It include a POE injector direct connected to 220V in the package too.

Why did you choose EAP245 and not e.g. EAP653?

Because dufus it was at least a year ago when many of the newer EAP models were not available.
The EAP245 is hands down the best wifi5 smart AP for the price ( which is what I suspect was the driiving factor), and it outperforms an EAP615 wall plate for example.
EAP6 models when they first came were quite expensive........
Unless one has devices that can take advantage of AX and follow on, the EAP245 is still a relevant and excellent AP.

@anav: Do you configure every EAP on its own or is is possible to use the Omada controller for controlling the APs and using MIkrotik routers instead of those TP-Link gateways?

I am thinking about using the EAPs but I don't want to configure the SSIDs in each AP...

my experience with controllers of any ilk has been dismal, I prefer single control, but for a home thats tenable for other scenarios maybe not so much.
If I was going to go down that route I would probably look at remotewinbox and sstp into all devices responsible for and manage them that way.
