Wireguard is't work well with DDNS

Mon Aug 01, 2022 9:42 am

When the endpoint is DDNS and the IP changes, the connection will be interrupted and cannot be restored.

The only way to restore the connection is to change DDNS.

Long standing bug (or feature, depending on who you ask) since inclusion of Wireguard in ROS.
If ddns name changes (or dns resolving is not available at start of wireguard interface), ROS does NOT try again to resolve.
So you're stuck.

Solutions:
1- yes, use the search function. This has been discussed already so much ...
2- (until fixed in ROS): toggle wireguard peer status (manually or automatically with a script), once enabled again, it will resolve dns and the sky will be blue again ...

disable peer and then enable it ,can't solve this problem.
I change endpoint to resolved ip, problem remains.

the only solution that I tried is change the ddns address, because i have 2 ips and 2 ddns addresses.

Yeah as previously stated.....
I am royally pissed that MT refuses to address this issue properly as its so commonly tripped over by users...........

See Paragraph (6) for more info.
