For experimental reasons I'd like to use a hAP Wireless Router as a switch.
(Note: I have a closed installation with fixed devices, no public penetration possible; So security is not an issue. Just asking before I start trying again).
How do I make the router a switch?
Of course I could leave the (so called) wan port just open and plug everything on the lan ports.
Do I need to remove any interface from the WAN - List?
Does setting out-bridge/out-interface to "" last?
Bckgnd: I have several vlans that carry some automation commands to signage.
However the control devices for this are wireless in a capsman managed cap network.
The APs all have local forwarding on.
So for several reasons it would be best for me to have a control device in some ap (a) and the signage it controls has itself connected to another ap (b). I'd know the fixed IP of the device and the vlan it is on. But I don't know on which AP the signage is.
Before we didn't have these problems because everything had been cabled and arp worked over the whole place.
With wireless components I want to achieve the same but in most thoughts/experiments the routing of the AP has been just a hurdle I don't need.
Any advice?
