7.4.1 vs 6.48.x - higher cpu usage

Sat Aug 13, 2022 9:02 pm

Hello
I have a CCR2004 running latest bugfix 6.48.x
I have upgraded to 7.4.1 and it have higher cpu load.
Very same config since it was upgraded. It mainly forwards traffic (no-track).

I have attached the traffic and the cpu graphs.
As you can see, at 10 in the morning I upgraded the software and then the routerboot. Immediately the cpu went higher.
In the evening I tried to upgrade to 7.4.1 but I wasnt able to set some routing filters, and then downgraded. In the morning I solved with the routing filters (thanks to the forum) and then I upgraded. Now at the moment is running on 7.4.1 working perfect.

thank you

The attached images are about CCR2004. I have seen the very same behaviour on a RB1100AHx2, cpu load raised at about 20% more than before with v6.

Increased cpu usage is due to there being no route cache in the newer linux kernel.
