hAP ac3 wifi not working after hard reset

Sun Sep 04, 2022 11:50 am

Hello,

I bought an hAP ac3 router a week ago, everything was working fine. (Updated to the newest stable version.)
I made a configuration mistake, so I hardreset the device. After it, I can not see the default wifi networks from my laptop/mobile.
And the wifi led remains dark. I think the led is OK, because at powering on, it flashes for a moment when the others also...
I tried to reset it several times, but no luck.
Only the blue led is on, and can not discover the default wifi networks...

Does anyone have a similar issue?
Is it possible to get into the device setup using LAN cable?
Or make a harder reset or something :)
Or is it a hardware issue?

Thanks in advance!

Which version of routeros are you using ?
It should be possible to connect to any ethernet port except 1. Normally the device should appear in Winbox.
If not: maybe best to netinstall to 7.5 (if you need ros7 features like wifiwave2) or 6.49.6.

Thank you for your fast response.
I cant remember the version.
I updated it in winbox to the newest stable version 1 week ago.
I will try via ethernet connection shortly, then come back with the result...

If the router is reseted to default, the wifi interfaces are disabled. So you must connect via cable to get them enabled again.

Thanks! That was the key... I could log on via cable, then I had to restore the default configuration, and then the (wifi) light came back. ;) and I could reconfigure the device.
Thank you again!
