Attach Wireless Interface to trunk port

Wed Sep 21, 2022 2:04 pm

Hi there,

I'm new to Mikrotik and this is my first post.

I have a Netgear Router with DD-WRT that provides 2 VLANs on one ethernet port.

This port is connected to my Mikrotik hAP Lite on ethernet port2 (trunk port).

Using the switch, the VLAN10 is sent to ethernet port3 and VLAN4 is sent to ethernet port4.
Everything works on the cable, but I want to attach the Wireless interface to VLAN10 and a Virtual AP to VLAN4.

I tried to added a bridge with eth3 and Wireless interface but It didn't work.

How can I do that?

Thanks in advance for the help.

BR,
Federico

Dont have a clue of what you described.
Please
a. provide a network diagram of what you want to achieve including the subnets going through the port.

Also provide full config of MT router
/export (minus serial number and any public WANIP info)

I suggest you to go through this tutorial. I guess your use case is a mix between switch and AP examples.

Agree with the above, with this addition:

A wireless interface (virtual or not) is also/still an interface. Just handle it the same as port 3 and port 4 (where ports are interfaces as well) and it will work the same.
