Mikrotik hAP ax2 wireless speed problem

Wed Oct 19, 2022 11:37 pm

Hello

I have a hAP ax2 router from today and I am a bit disappointed. I have a UPC 750/200 Mbit link and on the UPC router I get speeds of about 500 Mbit / s over Wi-Fi 5. I connected the ax2 router to it and configured it for Wi-Fi 6. On the iPhone 13 speedtest I only have about 250 Mbit / s.
I also tested some time ago on ASUS XD6 and I had about 700 Mbit / s after Wi-Fi 6.

Is something wrongly positioned?
Please help.
Configuration in attachment.

When I start doing speedtest, the tx rate drops to 600/600, not 1201 Mbps.

I'm about 3-4 meters from router.

looks like only 1 spatial stream is in use

just to be sure try setting in the configuration tab on wireless interface:

chains 0 1 checked
tx chains 0 1 checked

Looks like MikroTIk need to do some fine tuning on MiMo

Try changing de orientation: vertically, horizontal

@krystian do you have any reason to have
skip-dfs-channels=10min-cac
on your wifi-5g interface? are you near some airport or weather radar?
the dfs channels is where you have more bandwidth avaliable.

What Channel width did it select 40 or 80mhz?Looks like 40, try setting it to 80mhz instead 20/40/80 to see if thats the issue.

Also as mentioned above "skip-dfs-channels=10min-cac" that is also maybe the reason it selected 40mhz on more crowded channel instead using higher one which then may use 80 instead 40.
