wireguard works NAS to remote NAS but not windows explorer

Mon Nov 28, 2022 2:19 am

Home is 192.168.100.0/24, office is 192.168.200.0/24
home NAS is 192.168.100.15, office is 192.168.200.25.
I can see the office NAS from home but file / windows explorer using \\192.168.200.60 to an office PC does not work.
VNC works both ways.
The NAS drives are western digital and Seagate running their OSes which are probably Linux based.

Winbox does not work from home hAP RB192.168.100.1 to office hAP 192.168.200.10 nor the other way.
Pinging 1921.168.200.10 does not work nor should it because I was stupid and made a typing error, but pinging
192.168.200.10 does not work from home.I can ping a PC in the office from home and office to home.

I'm running ROS 7.6 and running in circles trying to figure this out.

thanks

You can't be mixing Western Digital and Seagate like this, it's not compatible with Wireguard, everyone knows that! Just kidding, of course. ;)

As @anav already hinted, there's not enough details provided. I can guess some things, e.g. accessing remote PC probably doesn't work because Windows by default allow access only from same subnet, not from remote ones. So you'd need to adjust PC's own firewall. As for the rest, it's probably also because of some firewall, but from what you posted it's not possible to tell which one. Also remember that even if you know all your devices, nobody else here does. So e.g. whether office hAP is the main router or just AP in office (another device), it can make a difference. Exporting and posting configs from routers often helps with finding what's wrong.
