How to convert ESXi CHR to UEFI?

Sun Dec 25, 2022 10:14 am

I imported the OVA image, converted the partition table to GUID, and then formatted the RouterOS Boot partition with FAT16.
After that, I copy the EFI file to /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI manually.
It seems that ESXi can actually load the bootloader, but the bootloader can't find the OS. It says "error: could not find disk \n please attach it somewhere else".

Is there any way to patch the EFI file to make it bootable, or is something wrong with my operation?

1. Start vmWare ESXi web client
2. Virtual Machines
3. Create / Register VM
4. Deploy a VM ftom OVA file
5 Select OVA file
5.1 Enter name for VM
6. Select Storage
7. Deployment options
7.1 Network Mappings
7.2 Disk Provisioning
8.Finish.....

VM is starting and after10 seconds everything is up and running... (just tried on ESXi 6.7u3...)
No need for "converted the partition table", "formatting the RouterOS Boot partition with FAT16", "copying the EFI file to /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI manually" or anything else....

try again
