Appreciate some guidance... Port Forwarding

Tue Jan 10, 2023 4:15 pm

Working on a port forwarding process and having an issue.

Following the guidance here: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ ... forwarding

Want to forward port 80 through to a static machine on the inside, also port 80. Problem is, when I get to In. Interface List, I don't have a WAN option. My options are: all, dynamic, none, and static...

What do you suggest?

Thanks in advance.

Instead of using the interface list, you can als use the interface that is the WAN port of your router.
Other option is to add the addreslist (/interface) and add the WAN port interface to it. After this you will be able to select it from the dropdownlist.

Choosing which method (using actual WAN interface or adding WAN interface list) largely depends on how the rest of firewall currently looks like. It seems it deviates from contemporary default firewall settings, so it's hard to tell which concept (interface vs. list) is better to use.

In other words post your config so we have some context........
/export file=anynameyouwish ( minus router serial # and any public WANIP information ) please.
