Failover

Tue Feb 07, 2023 5:50 pm

Hello I have a very instable powerline connection in my bedroom and now I tough i could just use two powerline adapter as for failover reason.

But how could I configure that? I can't use Bound or could I? Bound over two develo powerline adapters? Really not sure here. The problem is eth1 never goes down just the connection is so terrible that I need to reboot the powerline. Any Idea here?

Anyway that's the config on my CAP device.

If your current powerline is already instable, adding a second one to the same electrical wires, will only make things worse.
Do you really have no option to pull a normal ethernet cable ? Not even via outside ?

I also used powerline from living room (where modem is) towards my home office. I got around 150mb throughput, I think.

Until I got solar panels installed ... the harmonics practically KILLED the powerline throughput (ok, exagerating here but you get the idea  )
So I pulled a normal CAT6 via office through the floor into the garage, via ceiling of garage into basement, back up to living room.
Internal network is humming at close to 1Gbps now.
