hap ax3, 7.7, WAP + WAP2 only allows WPA2 capable hosts, ac2 worked OK

Mon Feb 20, 2023 7:21 pm

Hello,
I got the new hap ax3. I have an HP printer supporting only WPA encription, so I enable WPA and WPA2. The printer is not able to connect. Same setup on hap ac2 was working fine.

2nd try in addition to the above
I created a new wireless interface, put the same SSID, put only WPA for it, and created access lists to forbid all other MACs(besides the printer MAC) Created another access list to allow only the printer's MAC. Unfortunately the access lists did not seem to work.

Any advise?

Check your encryption ciphers. WPA is using TKIP from what I recall which you will need to manually select

Why not create an open wifi network?

Why not drill a hole in ones head. The OP is asking for an available and selectable function to simply work.
He isnt asking for work-arounds. He is perhaps highlighting a bug!

I suggest he enter in a possible bug ticket via supout.

You mean like a piercing?

@TS: hAP ac2 is using a different wifi driver from the hAP ax2. Therefor there might be a difference in configuration.
Unfortunately @anav forgot about the standard question (which is basically the "did you reboot your machine?" for Windows machines): can you please share your config?
