Difference between two SBSXT models

Wed Mar 01, 2023 10:46 am

Hi,
Hope you don't mind a rather non-tech question...
I'm about to set up a point-to-point link over approx. 6-800 meter (free sight). Have done this many times before with older Mikrotik hardware, but have a problem to figure out the difference between two different Mikrotik products. Don't find both of them on the Mikrotik web pages. They are:
RBSXTSQ5ND and RBSXTSQG-5ACD. They are both available from the local distributor, but have different prices.
What I'd like to know is: Is the antenna gain the same for these units, and what is the RouterOS versions? Are both of them L3?
Are there other, imoportant differences?
Thanks!
-Olaf

The "compare" tool stopped working on the Mikrotik website, at least today. https://mikrotik.com/products/group/wireless-systems
(Useful links: "Product Matrix" could be used)
If you compare check wifi type "n" versus "ac", license level 3 versus 4, and ethernet port speed 100Mbps versus 1000Mbps.
The SXTsq 5 High power (wifi "n") and SXTsq 5 ac are license level 3
License level 3 is not as "AP" , only "bridge" or "station" wifi mode, that is good for AP-client in PtMP or both roles in PtP
SXTsq Lite 5 (RBSXTsq5nD) is license level 4, wifi "n", ethernet port 100Mbps max.
For license level 4, wifi "ac" and 1000Mbps , look at SXT SA5 (RBSXTG-5HPnD-SAr2, there is no sq model here).
This SA5 has a wider beam (60° versus 12°)
