wap 60gx3 ap + Cube 60G ac wifi area

Sun Mar 26, 2023 3:59 pm

Hello everyone.

Apologies in advance for the awkwardness that follows.

The main problem was to cover an area of 350-400m x 80m with wifi starting from a corner with an ap.

After weighing between Ubiquiti and Mikrotik and encouraged by the vendor I decided to settle with Mikrotik. wap 60gx3 ap and several Cube 60G ac.

Well, after probing the forum for days and nights and other documentation on the net the only thing I managed to do was to update the software to version 7.8 and become an expert in resetting configurations.

The solution in my mind is a point(wap 60gx3) multipoint(Cube 60G ac) scheme but sadly I have not been able to make even the first link.

I humbly ask you to let me know if you know of a good paper where I can soak in to link these beasts.

Thank you very much in advance

[Edit]

I have managed to link a cube to this:
https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ ... GUIexample

This is starting to sound good

This configuration should not be a problem. I have two of these running.

The problem with the wap 60gx3 is that they are discontinued and there doesn't seem to be a replacement,

If you can't get them to connect in the first place, try placing the wAP 60 x3 on a non-metallic mast or pole, or use a plastic bracket like the ones MikroTik makes to get the antennas (they're in the top 25mm of the box) away from the metal.

I had issues when I swapped a couple wAP 60's with wAP 60 x3's, and realized the ones on metal pipes were the only ones having problems. Moving them above or away from the metal fixed the problem.

Also, the most stable I've seen is with 6.49.x, and I have well over a hundred MikroTik 60GHz radios on the air. Looking forward to testing 7.10.
