Framed-Route for iPOE Customers

Wed Apr 26, 2023 3:48 pm

Hi, we use this radius configuration to assign a static IP via iPOE to our clients in DHCP and rotate an additional subnet on it:

Framed-IP-Address = 100.64.23.25
Framed-Route = 154.60.xx.xx/32 100.64.23.25 1
Session-Timeout = 10

Everything works, dhcp client receives 100.64.23.25, subnet on BNG 154.60.xx.xx is correctly rotated to 100.64.23.25

The problem is that the route that is installed on the routing table of the BNG/DHCP Server is always active. Even eliminating the lease on the routing table, the route is not deleted. You have to delete it by hand. If you delete it manually and the client makes a new connection DHCP receives the IP but the route does not reappear in the routing table, the only solution is to restart the BNG.

How do we solve?
We would like that when the lease expires (parameter radius Session-Timeout = 10s) and the client does not renew the DHCP (technical problems on the line for example) the route is cancelled. If it remains active on the BNG all traffic will go to the inactive IP.
