RBM33G and RM500Q-GL in PCIe mode

Sun May 07, 2023 2:32 am

Hi all,

Different router/modem, different problem.

Got a RBM33G running 7.9 and RM500Q-GL modem. Currently, via a m.2-mini pcie adapter, the LTE interface comes up but it's running over USB 2.0 and 480Mbps which is poo. I don't realistically expect to ever saturate that given other variables but I'd have peace of mind knowing that it isn't a limitation.

I've tried setting the RM500Q via AT commands data_interface to 1,0 to set PCIe mode but the interface disappeared and never came back after a reboot.
Made sure that the modem was also in MBIM mode at the same time but still no luck.

Setting data_interface back to 0,0 got me lte1 interface back but of course back to USB 2.0

Is it possible to get this running over PCIe with the RBM33G and if so, how?

What do you mean by EP mode? How did you switch away from it?

According to RM5xx AT command manual: https://forums.quectel.com/uploads/shor ... shlXjm.pdf

1. Set the network port communication via USB interface.
AT+QCFG="data_interface",0,0

2. Set PCIe to RC mode (0-EP, 1-RC)
AT+QCFG="pcie/mode",1

3. Reset power
AT+CFUN=1,1
