Losing PPP profiles on CCR2004-16G-2S+

Mon May 15, 2023 11:27 am

I moved form a CCR1036-12G-4S to a CCR2004-16G-2S+ due to performance per watt as I do not need the 36x core performance and the CCR2004 runs longer on my battery.
The issue I have getting is when I disconnects my PPPoE interface to the internet, I sometimes loses all Profiles and Secrets under the PPP panel in the process. It happens on both v7.8 & 7.9 what I am aware of. I always need to load a backup or run a script to get it back in the settings. Any Idea of how to solve this?

I have found that the Profiles does not dissapear at all. What happens is that CPU core 0 & 3 goes to 100% usage, thus the profiles and secrets does not load to display. This hapens at random. How do I troubleshoot the cause of this cenario? When I disable my trust zone connection (via OVPN) it seems to work well. This config was working perfectly while using the CCR1036 router.

Can you share the config?

/export file=anynameyoulike

Make sure to remove serial and any personal info (like public IP).

I have removed all personal info I could find, eg. MAC addresses and related.

This is what I observe when the issue accures. I cant disable the OVPN interface, it just returns a error message that the time have been exeeded and cant disable the interface.

I moved to wireguard for the TrustZone VPN. This solved all my issues. Still not sure why OVPN gives issues. Maybe a configuration issue on the OVPN interface or another issue entirely.
