PtP ax hardware ?

Tue Jun 06, 2023 10:39 am

I was wondering would PtP ax wireless system make sense - performance-wise, in a form of LHG XL 52 ax for example ?
Or is ax only viable in PtMP scenarios ?

Hmm. Little theoretical at this point, considering there is no outdoor AX hardware :)

I think it be same story as using 802.11ac as PtP link... Those are better if you really don't have any clear channels & so AX be better than using AC/N... But for PtP some fixed time-division scheme like NV2 may still be best. Time will tell I guess.

Currently RouterOS, or rather the manufacturers' drivers that RouterOS use, don't support 4MAC in any way,
so you can't make transparent L2 bridges without first tunneling to L3, so a shit comes out.

Maybe in the future...
