SR-10U load capacity

Fri Sep 01, 2023 9:32 pm

I just found out about this little neat rack - and looks awesome:

https://mikrotik.com/product/rack_holder_sr_10u

But I couldn't find the load it is certified to. I know I can stuff it full of routers - but they are lightweights (even the heavy ones).

What's the weight limit? Can it handle a 5kg 4U device? Can it handle a 5kg 1U device? How about a 10kg 5U? What are the limits? This would be nice to have on the product page.

Maybe ask support ?

I have one and it should be able to hold 10kg from what I can derive but I didn't test it.

Yeah, I think I'll ask them.

I'm not buying one now, but looked such a neat hardware... got me curious.

How are You liking yours? Good building? Easy cable management? Solid, with no flex? Would You recommend it?

For the purpose it was released, lab setup or small desk setup, it's a very good solution and not expensive at all.

Cable management, can't tell. There are hooks foreseen but haven't used those yet.
Only have 1 RB5009 mounted in it right now.
A couple of TP Link managed switches also had a temp space in there.

I do recommend to place all nuts upfront for all positions, much easier afterwards to mount stuff.
Just add the screws and done.
Otherwise you might end up removing everything if you want to add stuff because of missing nuts ( been there, done that).

But it is easy for lab setup to just play around, add/ remove, experiment and then tear things apart again for final installation.
