USERMAN V7 and FORTIGATE

Fri Sep 29, 2023 10:16 am

Anyone here tried to use mikrotik router userman v7 as radius server reinforcement with FortiGate firewall?
Test connectivity and Test user Credentials on FortiGate firewall are working fine but when I use the credentials to the laptop, it not working. Hopefully, anyone here can help me on this, Thanks in advance.

It's work with me
While already connected to Radius server successfully
You just need to
A- user and Authentication ->User Group -> create user group -firewall -> add remote group (Give It a name) ->select remote Radius server
B-got to Network interfaces
1-Enable security mode and select Captive portal
2-Authentication portal :- select local
3-User access :- select restricted group
4-Group :- Select Radius Group you just created in A

Then every thing will work normally

The problem Solved

You need to enable accounting on fortigate
example
config accounting-server

edit 1

set status enable

set server "10.0.0.1"

set secret XXX

set port 1813

next

Then in Mikrotik userman
You need to assign active profile to the user
Then Authentication and accounting will work normally
