SIM insertion

Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:13 pm

I just unpacked a Mikrotik LHG LTE18, since I've read of problems about not-working SIMs stuck inside the slot, I stopped inserting the SIM as soon as I felt some resistance, in your experience is this the right position of SIM in slot?
I also cannot connect to 192.168.188.1, but I think that's a different issue...

The "Quick guide" I received says "188", not "88", I'll try 88 too...

Is not a typo error (the wrong is the link: online text is .188. but the link is .88.).

Defconf now have 192.168.188 for LTE devices, so the guide is right... But only for RouterOS 7.12?...

lines extracted from 7.12 arm defconf code

:local ipNetwork "192.168.88";

  :if ($board->"model"~"SXT|EC25") do={
          :if (!($defconfLte="" || [:typeof $defconfLte]= "nothing") || $marketingName~"LTE") do={
            :set ipNetwork "192.168.188";

  :if ($board->"model"~"LDF") do={
    :if (!($defconfLte="" || [:typeof $defconfLte]= "nothing")) do={
      :set ipNetwork "192.168.188";

  :if ($board->"model"~"LHG|Disc|nRAY|ATLGM|L00G") do={
    :if (!($defconfLte="" || [:typeof $defconfLte]= "nothing")) do={
      :set ipNetwork "192.168.188";

The guide also suggests https://... But unless you add a cert, it's just http://192.168.88.1 or http://192.168.188.1

Well, we sorted out 88 and 188. Maybe the topicmaster doesn’t have an address on the interface at all?
Let him try to connect using the Mac address.
