Ethernet port is the bottleneck of LHG XL HP5 and many other products

Fri Mar 01, 2024 11:29 am

According to products specs of LHG XL HP5(and some other Mikrotik products), The max data rate on wireless port is 300Mbits/sec, but the Ethernet port is a 10/100MBits/sec one. Doesn't that make the Ethernet port a bottleneck? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

True but you will rarely reach 300Mb on that LTE link.

That's not a LTE device. I currently get ~ 160MBit/sec on the wireless interface.
Even on LTE Cat6 or higher devices, 200MBit/sec should be achievable.

My apologies, was confused with another device.

But still, it's in the specs those are fast ethernet ports. So you know in advance that will be the limiting factor.

I used to have an SXT LTE6 running (theoretically 300Mbps) but I was happy if I got 25Mbps (really rural area).
That fast ethernet port never was a concern for me.
