Issue with ping and EoIP

Thu Mar 21, 2024 9:57 am

Hello, we have 3 isp's
1st isp has 2 router/ 1 pppoe (ether1) and 1 dhcp (ether2).
2nd isp dhcp (ether4)

Main campus connect to here 2nd campus via Eoip. We can ping the Main campus via 192.168.1.12 and .161

Now if I unplug the ether1 and 2, failover to ether4 is now automatic but we then cannot ping the main campus in 192.168.1.12 and .161 and the eoip is not working.
1.12 is the database server of the main campus

Can u plzz help? I am a newbie

One possible option is a second eoip for the link over ether4.

Ether 4 will likely have a different IP address, that the existing main campus eoip doesn't know about.
You can then have both links running and use rstp or similar to prevent loops.

Other options might be to setup an l3 vpn (road warrier type config) and run eoip over that.
Either wireguard or an explicit ipsec tunnel (rather than the one built into eoip that I assume you might be currently using).
