hAP AX3 Wireless TxPower sudden drop

Tue Mar 26, 2024 1:49 pm

Dear Mikrotik Community,

I recently purchased a Hap Ax3 device which I am super satisified with the performance the software and stability.
Wireless 5Ghz interface has a txpower=28 which is the best we can do on this device using the following parameters:
Frequency: 5240
Channel Width: 20/40/80Mhz
Country: Lebanon

My problem is everyday I notice degradation in wifi signal then when checking the wifi 5Ghz interface I notice that the TxPower dropped to 17. Disabling and Enabling back the interface solves the problem but its daily happening.
What could be the issue ?
Kindly note that the used frequency:5240 is the best one in my location.

Best Regards,
Ali

My guess would be that both tx power and frequency have changed, correct?

When selecting a DFS channel *), your device will scan for radar signals. If found, the radio will change its frequency (and tx power accordingly) to comply. You can check the log for radar detected events.

*) If your bandwidth setting is Ceee (Control, extension, etc) the frequencies used will be from 5210 to 5290 (44, 48, 52, 56).

Hi mate, thats very weird because my frequency is set manually to 5240 and it didn't change what happened is just the txpower decreased by itself from 28 to 17.
My Txpower and Antenna gain parameters are set to default I didn't edit or change anything related to those two.

Can't help the change in channel 8)
The additional information is showing that it is using eeeC, so no DFS channels involved.

Can you supply your config information?
/interface/wifi export file=anynameyoulike

You should always set country code identical on all wireless interfaces.
You might want to remove serial (it's of no use).

Hope this helps.

Are you sure about this ?
I am using South Korea on 2.4Ghz to boost the power of 2472 frequency from Txpower 16 to 18.
It should be independent from the 5Ghz interface logically speaking and technically as well.
