Issues with IPv6 multicast routing

Thu Apr 18, 2024 5:28 pm

Hi guys,

I try to configure IPv6 multicast routing on MikroTik CRS-310 using Group Management Protocols introduced in RouterOS 7.x (my device runs 7.14.2) that enable IPv6 multicast joins. However PIM does not route packets between interfaces. It does for IPv4, though. I enabled IPv6 routing and forwarding in System settings. I see that router interfaces does not query hosts, so maybe as a result they don't join multicast group ff0e::181. Has anyone tried to configure such routing or can suggest anything that may help?

Here's my configuration:

/ipv6 address add address=fd00:1::1 interface=sfp1
/ipv6 address add address=fd00:2::1 interface=sfp2-5405GM
/ipv6 address add address=fd00:3::1 interface=sfp3-IXIASlave

/routing gmp
add disabled=no exclude groups=ff0e::181 interfaces=sfp1,sfp2-5405GM,sfp3-IXIASlave

Cannot print or export PIM-SM configuration since it returns errors. However I created an instance on main VRF with AFI IPv6 and interface template with interfaces sfp1, sfp2-5405GM and sfp3-IXIASlave. And that's it.

Thanks in advance!
