Hello.
I have a question regarding the operation of ROS v.7.15 on an old Mikrotik device.
Specifically, on RB941-2nD (hAP lite).
Currently, the device is running firmware v.6.49.15. Mikrotik is used as a regular home router.
So it runs a DHCP server, Wi-Fi for several wireless clients and the main point is a PPTP VPN tunnel for routing some traffic for address lists from firewall.
BUT at the moment it has become noticeable that the speed via PPTP is quite low. The OpenVPN tunnel will not provide much higher speed.
Thus, I thought about the possibility of WireGuard, as the most advantageous in terms of speed.
Unfortunately, v6 does not have this protocol.
On the official mikrotik website (https://mikrotik.com/product/RB941-2nD#fndtn-downloads)
the latest version is indicated for this router is RouterOS current release 7.15.3.
Previously, as soon as version 7.1 appeared, I tried to install it, but rolled back because...
I started having problems with the router constantly rebooting. Now, as I understand it, the firmware is more stable.
Please tell me if ROS 7 will work on hap lite with configurations of: DHCP server, Wi-Fi for wireless clients (mobiles, tables - all 8-9 devices), firewall, and wireguard?
And how to do it if router says that there is constantly not enough space, even before updating to 7.12. (I tried manually uploading the file as well).
Maybe I can temporarily remove some packages of the old firmware packages without problems (security, routing, PPP, DHCP) or netinstall is the only choice?
