Time problem all the time

Thu Nov 14, 2024 9:54 am

Time problem all the time,

Hi,
I keep having problems with the timing on my home router. Every few days the time changes for me and I don't know for what. I have installed NTP client and server and still the same thing. My time changes by itself which causes KIDS Control to malfunction. In addition, the network stops working because there are different times

1. Where can I check if someone is changing my time?
2. Can I run a script to monitor this ?
3. can I check when someone has logged in?

Thank you for your help

Check settings in Cloud ... since you have NTP client running (hopefully it shows status synchronized), you should disable time option in cloud settings.

BTW, if you're running NTP only to keep time on router current, you can disable NTP server function.

Also, in log, you should see when the time changes and by what amount, the sync should happen once every day or less often and the change should be seconds at the most.

The "default" mode for the NTP client is "unicast", unless you have reasons for it to be set as "multicast", it is better to have it to the default setting.

You can try also changing the NTP server you are using, 194.146.251.100 should be
http://ntp.wide-net.pl/

as an experiment, try using:
https://www.ntppool.org/en/zone/pl

I did as you suggested, I turned off the NTP server and left only the client.
I changed the NTP servers.
How can I check if the time is synchronized in which log?

In the normal log there should be an entry each time the date/time is synchronized via NTP, an entry *like*:
2024-09-19T07:47:44.224614-04:00 system,critical,info ntp change time Sep/18/2024 23:16:01 => Sep/19/2024 07:47:44
