unable to log in to router

Mon Jan 28, 2008 4:05 pm

I am suddenly unable to login to my Mikrotik router (via winbox), which means I can't diagnose why it's stopped working. I have tried various methods, including hyperterminal and telnet, but I'm hampered by lack of serial cable (I've been trying via ethernet cable) and lack of technical knowledge. I live in the bush in Africa (no shops to buy a serial cable) and would love some advice on what to do. I think perhaps I need to reset the login and password, but no idea how.

What happens when you try to log in? Can you ping it?

Download neighbor viewer and try it.

Hai fren, . . . .
by this way, you can make by yourself how to make null modem cable. and keep this cable future for. try this cable and HyperTerminal of windows's application will help you to connect to your mikrotik's machine.
