Time limited user setting question

Fri Jun 06, 2008 5:15 pm

I need to be able to set up a user account (hotspot user) in my mikrotik router that would, for example, let 30 simultaneous users log in under the user name and password but will only be able to access the internet for say 30 days. Once the 30 days is up, they would not be able to login as the user would have expired or whatever.

I know I can limit up time but does this just count the actual hours that they are connected? Should I set the idle timeout to 0? I need the time to be up in 30 days weather they log in or not, does this make sense?

I am not a linux command line guy so i do most everything through winbox. any and all help would be appreciated!

Use User-manager, it allows you to do this. RouterOS hotspot on its own cannot do it.

Ok, that being said, is User Manager something that can be installed on the same box as the router os or does it have to be on its own box?

It's installed on anything which runs RouterOS.
